Throwback Saturday: Vargrav – Netherstorm

I guess, I officially decided to bail on social media for good, which basically means Twitter, my only functional page as of now. I mention this not just for I want to set a dramatic tone but merely explain myself why such a short post like this goes in the website. Anyways, without further due, let’s cut down to subject matter in here, namely Vargrav!

Vargrav is a one-man act hailing from Finland, which either has an extraordinary ability to bypass my radars or I’ve become a little lousy in my quest of searching the underground. More like the latter, I guess. Lately, I’ve been in the mood for rather traditional stuff and all of the sudden I clashed with “Netherstorm” on Youtube.

Netherstorm” sets the dawn for Vargrav in the beginning of 2018 offering 6 frosty songs imbued by subtle symphonic and electronic elements that create a very profound cosmic experience. To me, this is an example of the early symphonic black metal spirit that empowers the grimness and mysticism surrounding this genre so eloquently.

I’m not gonna spoil you the pleasure with more unnecessary ranting, so I highly recommend you to give it a go. After all, it’s up in its entirety for free streaming, so why not, right? In case you want to support Vargrav and Werewolf Records, buy the damned CD!
